When do you ship your orders?
We attempt to process orders as soon as possible and on average we ship around 3 to 4 days for pet treats as it takes time to cook, bake or dehydrate them.
For more information about our postage, please refer to the shipping information.
What is your expiry date for pet treats?
We prepare and cook, dehydrate and pack treats when you order. You can store pet treats in a cool, dry and dark place around 10°C-21° for 1 month.
Once you receive your order we recommend refrigerating or freezing them to ensure that remain fresh.
We recommend that treats are consumed within one 1 and have a best before 3 months if stored correctly (sealed) in the freezer.
There are some products that have do great stored in the cupboard like pig ears, tripe and the dog crackers (for more than a month) but, to ensure they don't spoil in case of varying environmental factors we recommend you refrigerate or freeze them.
Although, freezing does extend the life of dehydrated treats and is a great way to store them our goal is to normalise fresh food for our furry friends. This is because extended periods of storage (even when stored correctly) can have various factors that affect the quality of food.
Are your pet treats meal replacements?
Our treats are not formulated to be complete meal replacements.
We encourage you to consider your dogs overall diet, size and age when feeding treats because they can be used as a 'meal'. For example, if you have a small dog, a chicken wing tip is a substantial meal.
We do not make claims that our products are balanced for optimal pet nutrition but, they can definitely be part of contributing to this and be part of your pet's feeding routine.
Some steps to including our treats as part of meals:
- adding our Sardine Sprinkles to your pet's food to entice them to eat they're standard meal.
- introduce vegetables in the form of sprinkles as you hide them into dog food.
- adding fish chunks to add a boost of Omega-3 while, it's conveniently packaged.
For any dietary concerns, please contact your veterinarian.
Do I need to supervise my dog when feeding pet treats?
It is recommended that you supervise you dog when feeding treats that are tough and/or have bones.
Dehydration of bones do not cook them. We will not cook and dehydrate bones.
Although, we have some cooked treats that's also been dehydrated for example, the roasted powders and oat products. This is an extra step taken to add flavour and make these ingredients easily digestible to your pets. Cooking changes the flavour profile of foods as dehydrating is not necessarily considered a form of cooking.
If you are feeding your dog treats for the first time, it is recommended to watch them in case of allergies or other issues.
Why are some of your pet treats sold in pieces and not by weight?
As a lot of our dog treats are made by a dehydration process, a lot of the water content is loss making them lightweight.
If we specify the weight when purchasing online, it is hard to gauge while, pieces help our customers have a better understanding of what is in the package.
This also means that you're getting a concentrated product. When dehydrating foods, it can loose a lot of water weight and we've seen vegetables loose 95%.
Therefore, sometimes it can be tricky to determine the end weight. We also provide a little extra in your package where possible.
